Loyola track and field alums hitting home stretch of season: Former all-state runners with the Ramblers, Kathryn House (Class of 2016) and Margot Dooley (Class of 2017) both will represent their respective college programs at this week’s conference meets. House is a redshirt sophomore at Michigan, and Dooley is a sophomore at Alabama. The SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships run Thursday through Saturday at University of Arkansas. The Big Ten Outdoor Championships are Friday through Saturday at University of Iowa.

A distance runner, House has run career-best times in each the 3,000 and 5,000 meters this season. At Stanford’s Cardinal Classic April 19-20, she clocked a top time of 16 minutes, 17.51 seconds in the 5,000. Her personal-best time of 9:29.46 in the 3,000 came March 22-23 at Vanderbilt’s Black and Gold Invitational.

Dooley has specialized in the 800 meters during the outdoor season. Her best time was 2:15.92 at the Florida State Relays on March 22.

Both Alabama and Michigan will compete at the NCAA East Preliminaries at University of North Florida May 23-25. The national meet is June 5-8 at University of Texas.
