On the strength of three individual and two relay titles, the Loyola girls track and field team finished first Saturday at the GCAC meet at the University of Chicago.
The Ramblers totaled 149.5 points to beat out St. Ignatius (128) at the 10-team meet.
On the track, senior Lainey McKinley won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 25.80 seconds, and junior Addison Bendrey won the 400 meters in 1:00.82. Senior Jacqueline Topping took first in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 9 inches.
Loyola won the 4×400 and 4×800 relay races.
The boys team also captured a conference championship Saturday at University of Chicago, earning 99 points to edge out St. Laurence (97) in the 14-team field.
Seniors Diego Collado, Luke Phillips and Declan Ritzenthaler all won individual titles. Collado finished first in the shot put (49-9), while Ritzenthaler won the pole vault (14-0) and Phillips won the 800 (2:01.30).
