Record-breaking run: Senior Sarah Kelley (Loyola Class of 2014) anchored Bowdoin College’s distance medley relay team to first place Friday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.

According to Bowdoin’s athletic department, Kelley got the baton trailing the leader by 15 meters and won the race by 20 meters with a 1,690-meter leg of 4 minutes, 47 seconds. The team’s time of 11:37.18 established a Polar Bears program record.

Prior to the national meet, Kelley finished first in the mile (4:54.48) at the New England Division III Women’s Track & Field Championship on Feb. 16-17.

At Loyola, Kelley was a two-time state qualifier in the 1,600 meters. As a senior, she helped the 4×800 relay team to second place.

Rambler reunion in Evanston: Five former Loyola girls lacrosse players re-connected Saturday when Northwestern hosted Marquette.

Northwestern freshman midfielder and two-time US Lacrosse Magazine Midwest Player of the Year Brennan Dwyer (Class of 2017) had two draw controls in the No. 9-ranked Wildcats’ 20-9 win over the Golden Eagles.

Junior defender Laine Dolan (Class of 2015), sophomore defender Erin Dowdle (Class of 2016), freshman midfielder/attacker Mary Dooley (Class of 2017) and freshman midfielder Madison Kane (Class of 2017) all represented the Ramblers on Marquette.

Chicago-area Loyola lacrosse fans will have two more chances to see former Ramblers in Evanston. On March 23, Michigan plays Northwestern. The Wolverines feature Megan Schulte (Class of 2015) and Caroline Witkowski (Class of 2017). Katie Enrietto (Class of 2017) and Notre Dame come to Evanston on April 8.
