BOYS LACROSSE: Senior Matt Parma, junior Timothy Hackett and junior Cooper Prawdzik put themselves in rare company Saturday when the Ramblers beat New Trier 7-2 to capture the state championship at Hinsdale Central. That’s because it was their second state title this school year after the three helped the Loyola Gold hockey team to the state championship with a 4-2 win over Stevenson on March 24 at the United Center.
“We always joked about doing that, but to actually do it is an incredible feeling,” said Prawdzik, who played on the lacrosse team’s 2016 state title team.
The Ramblers placed six players on the all-state team. Senior Quinn Cashion, senior Andrew Forsyth, senior Luca Lazzaretto, junior Timothy Hackett, junior Najee Taylor and Dom Urukalo all earned the honor.
It was Lazzaretto’s third all-state selection and the second for both Hackett and Urukalo.
Ten Ramblers were named to the all-Catholic League first team. They are seniors Quinn Callahan, Cashion, Forsyth, Lazzaretto and juniors Mick Burden, Nolan Chow, Connor Koch, Hackett, Urukalo and Taylor. Juniors Cooper Prawdzik and Will Starshak were selected to the second team.
GIRLS LACROSSE: Senior Riley Dolan, junior Lauryn Repp, sophomore Audrey Brett and sophomore Sophia Rucker were named to the all-state first team after contributing to Loyola’s third-place finish at the state tournament.
Honorable mentions include senior Claire Caffery, senior Mary Kate Campbell, junior Annie Enrietto, junior Maggie Gorman and sophomore Annabelle Burke.
