Sophomore Summer Parker-Hall came off the bench to score a team-best 12 points Tuesday in the Ramblers’ 71-35 season-opening win over Bogan at home.
After a 25-6 campaign that ended in the Class 4A sectional final, Loyola jumped ahead 44-15 at the half and led 63-28 after three quarters.
“I thought we played a nice first half,” Loyola head coach Jeremy Schoenecker said. “The tempo was good for us, and we got some good shots. We have some work to do defensively, but that’s because of how young we are.”
Junior Addison Ebeling added 11 points as 12 players contributed to the scoring. Senior Jordan Moser, junior Kate Kurkowski and sophomore Arielle Dabu all finished with seven points apiece.
Schoenecker was impressed by Moser’s play in the post, an area in which the Ramblers lack experience and depth.
“She did some really good things,” he said. “She was aggressive on the boards and got some putbacks.”
Loyola’s lone two returning starters, senior Celia Satter and senior Julia Martinez — both of whom are Division I commits — combined for eight points.
