Three players made 3-pointers during an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter Friday that lifted Loyola to a 46-37 win over New Trier on the road.

The victory gave the Ramblers (5-0) the championship at New Trier’s tournament.

Down three, sophomore Summer Parker-Hall, senior Celia Satter and junior Addison Ebeling all hit 3s to put Loyola ahead 36-30 with 4 minutes, 43 seconds left in the fourth. The Ramblers led by at least three the rest of the way.

Later in the quarter, Loyola executed an out-of-bounds play to perfection when Satter found Ebeling for a layup and a 43-35 lead with 1:31 to go in the game.

“Any time you beat New Trier it’s a good win,” Loyola head coach Jeremy Schoenecker said. “We are still not sharp, but we will correct things over time. The fun thing is that we have been winning without our best stuff.”

Parker-Hall scored a team-best 12 points, and Ebeling finished with 10 points. Senior Julia Martinez and Satter each had nine points. Martinez and senior Addison Bendery shined on the defensive end.

“Addison has been awesome,” Schoenecker said. “She really wrecks havoc out there. She understands that’s her role and does it very well.”

Martinez ended the second quarter with a steal and basket to give the Ramblers a 19-17 lead. She started the second half with a steal and an assist to Satter. Martinez finished the third quarter with a steal, resulting in senior Jordan Moser’s basket that tied the game at 25-all.
