Head coach: Dan Seeberg

Athletes to watch: Diego Collado, sr.; Jack McCall, sr.; Luke Phillips, sr.; Declan Ritzenthaler, sr.

Notes: Declan Ritzenthaler (pictured above) was the lone athlete to compete at the Class 3A state track and field meet a year ago, qualifying in the pole vault. He also qualified for the event as a sophomore, but he didn’t make it past the preliminaries in either year. At the Catholic League’s indoor meet March 18, Ritzenthaler won the pole vault with a mark of 14 feet. Additionally, Ritzenthaler competes in the 110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter intermediate hurdles. “He’s our most talented guy,” Dan Seeberg said. “He’s a gutsy competitor who shows up at big-time moments. He has big plans this year.” … Jack McCall and Luke Phillips will anchor the Ramblers in the running events. McCall is a sprinter, while Phillips’ speciality is the 800. Phillips finished first in the 800 at the indoor conference meet, which the Ramblers won, with a time of 2:01.30. … Seeberg said he’s looking froward to seeing what Diego Collado can do in the throwing events. In only his second season with the team, Collado won the shot put (49-9) at the league’s indoor meet. … Loyola hosts the Catholic League’s outdoor meet May 12.
