In his third and final appearance at the state meet, Loyola senior diver Alex O’Toole earned his first medal by finishing eighth with 442.65 points Saturday.

It was the fifth season in a row a Rambler diver received a medal at the state meet, and O’Toole is the eighth diver in program history to medal. The top 12 in event earn medals.

Loyola’s swimmers also enjoyed success at Evanston.

Sophomore Luke Maurer took third in the 100-yard freestyle in 45.63 seconds and finished fourth in the 200 freestyle in 1:39.40. The medals are his first two.

Senior Tommy Barr collected his first state medals Saturday by placing ninth in the 50 free (21.41) and 10th in the 100 free (46.85).

Barr and Maurer teamed up with junior Ben Dukes and sophomore Everet Andrew on the 400 free relay that took 12th (3:10.88).

The Ramblers placed 13th as a team with 37 points, the most they have scored since totaling 67 to finish sixth in 2013.
