Notes: A lot of major contributors return from a team that finished second in the state, headlined by 2017 All-Americans Luca Lazzaretto, Timothy Hackett and Dominic Urukalo. A 6-foot-2, 195-pound defenseman, Lazzaretto has committed to play lacrosse at Princeton. … Nearly all of the offensive production is back. In addition to Hackett, Andrew Forsyth, Nolan Chow, Najee Taylor and Kaden Keller were go-to point-getters a year ago. Mick Burden takes over faceoff duties following the graduation of Billy Jardeleza, now a freshman player at St. Joseph. … Defensively, the Ramblers will be filling holes left by a group that was one of the best in program history. A big loss was the graduation of Kyle Koch, a three-time All-American and freshman player at Marquette. … This is the first season lacrosse is an official IHSA sport. Winners of three state championships in six seasons, the Ramblers are at the Maine South Sectional. New Trier, which owns three of the last six last state titles, is at the St. Viator Sectional. … Loyola’s captains are Forsyth, Gierut, Lazzaretto and Urukalo. … Cooper Prawdzik, Matt Parma and Hackett all helped the Loyola Gold hockey team to a state championship.
