Loyola closed out the Catholic Blue schedule at home Friday with a 48-45 loss to Fenwick.

The Ramblers led 36-34 after junior guard Conner Barrett’s 3-pointer with 5 minutes, 39 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Friars used an 8-0 run to take control. They went 7-for-8 on free throws in the final 1:56.

It was the third loss in a row for Loyola (21-6, 5-3). The win earned Fenwick (18-7, 8-0) the conference championship.

Loyola aenior guard Kevin Cunningham finished with 21 points and four assists. Barrett added 10 points and six rebounds. Senior forward Pete Mangan had six rebounds and four assists.

The Ramblers conclude the regular season Tuesday at home against Steinmetz. The seniors will be recognized before the game.

Loyola received the No. 4 seed at the Class 4A Maine East Sectional. The Ramblers open the playoffs Feb. 27 at the Maine South Regional against either No. 14 Hersey or No. 20 Von Steuben.

Evanston earned the top seed at the sectional, followed by New Trier at No. 2 and Niles North at No. 3.
