The Loyola girls basketball team lost its third close game of the season Friday, falling to St. Ignatius 40-35 at home. After winning 15 in a row in the Jesuit Cup series, the Ramblers (9-3, 0-2 GCAC Red) have lost two consecutive games to the Wolfpack (9-2, 1-0).

St. Ignatius led 19-12 at the half and 30-24 after three quarters.

Sophomore Summer Parker-Hall made four 3-pointers and scored a team-best 19 points for Loyola. Sophomore Ariella Dabu contributed nine points, and senior Celia Satter added five points.

Loyola has a big week ahead of itself. The Ramblers play at Taft on Thursday and at Evanston on Friday. Both teams are in the same Class 4A sectional as Loyola. The Ramblers beat the Wildkits 47-31 in the Class 4A regional final at Lane last season.

On the boys side, the Ramblers lost to St. Rita 47-46 on Friday in Chicago.

Junior Bennett Kwiecinski led Loyola (6-3, 2-2 Catholic Blue) with 21 points and eight rebounds. Senior Connor Barrett contributed eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Junior Jordan Kwiecinski added seven points and five rebounds.

Senior Nikko Landon and junior Matt Enghauser each took one charge.

The Ramblers play at home Friday against Providence-St. Mel and at home Saturday against Steinmetz.
