GIRLS: The Ramblers rallied to win the first game on their annual trip to the East Coast, beating Georgetown Visitation 11-7 on Friday.
Down 4-1 and then 5-4 at the half, Loyola (7-0) started the comeback behind senior Katie Enrietto (pictured above). She scored two goals early in the second half to tie the score at 6-all. Senior Caroline Witkowski’s goal gave the Ramblers their first lead at 7-6.
Senior Brennan Dwyer had a team-best three goals. Enrietto and Witkowski each finished with two goals apiece. Seven players scored.
Loyola plays two games Saturday and one Sunday.
BOYS: Loyola nearly pulled off an unlikely comeback in its first game on East Coast, losing to Georgetown Prep 8-7 on Friday.
Trailing 8-6, sophomore Timmy Hackett scored with 17.2 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. But the team’s shot attempt with 1.2 seconds remaining was saved.
The Ramblers (1-1) were down 4-1 at the half and 7-3 after three quarters.
Senior Quinn Roddy scored a team-high two goals. Other goals were scored by senior Tommy Schmitz, junior Luca Lazzaretto, sophomore Nolan Chow and freshman Kaden Keller.
Senior Billy Jardeleza won 15 of 19 faceoffs. Sophomore Dominic Urukalo started in goal.
The Ramblers play one game Saturday and one Sunday.
