The Ramblers saw their five-game winning streak come to an end Friday in Lombard with their 48-40 loss to Montini in the GCAC Red.

Loyola (14-6, 2-2) kept it close throughout against the undefeated Broncos, the Chicago Tribune’s top-ranked team. Montini led 17-11 at the half and 32-26 going into the fourth.

Senior forward Clare Nelson led Loyola’s offense with 12 points. Senior guard Madison Kane and junior forward Lilly Wehman headlined the defense.

“We wanted to keep it close,” Loyola head coach Jeremy Schoenecker told the Daily Herald. ” They could potentially go on a 15-0 run. We know the clock is hopefully going to be in our favor. We’re down six at the end of the half, and at the end of the third. We’ve got a shot. That’s all we wanted.”
