There shouldn’t be any surprises when Loyola and Fenwick meet for the second time this season Tuesday in the second round of the GCAC Red tournament at Montini.

In the first game De. 15, the fourth-seeded Ramblers beat the fifth-seeded Friars 44-35.

“They start the same personnel, but they are playing a lot more girls,” Loyola head coach Jeremy Schoenecker said. “They are a really good, and they are playing well. We know each other.”

The Friars (16-8) have won three in a row after earning a 41-34 victory over Resurrection in the first round Saturday at Loyola. Schoenecker said the keys to beating Fenwick for a second time include executing on offense and not allowing the Friars multiple shots on the other end.

“They are not an outstanding defensive team, but they are good,” he said. “If we are able to run our stuff, I think we are going to get some quality looks. It’s about knocking down those shots and finishing around the basket. On defense, we have to keep them off the glass, limit them to one shot.”

Senior center Kelly Carpenter and junior forward Kate Moore are two players Loyola (17-8) will have to account for Tuesday. Moore is the team’s top shooter, and Carpenter is a physical player in the post.

“We have our work cut out for us,” Schoenecker said.
