After Tuesday’s 22-point performance in a 65-55 win against Ridgewood, senior guard Ramar Evans moved into ninth place on Loyola’s all-time scoring list for boys basketball players with 871 points.

The Maryville-bound Evans has a good chance to climb even higher before his Loyola career comes to an end. He’s 89 points away from eight place, 149 out of seventh and 155 shy of sixth. To get into the top five, Evans needs 211 more points to match 2007 graduate Jeffrey Jordan.

If Evans maintains his 14.2 points a game scoring average, he will surpass 2008 graduate Rob Belcore, who is No. 8. But in three games since the holiday break, Evans is averaging 21.3 points. He scored a career-high 27 points in Loyola’s 60-59 overtime win over St. Joseph on Jan. 13.

The Ramblers have seven games remaining in the regular season plus the Catholic League tournament and Class 4A state playoffs, giving Evans a minimum of 11 games left to solidify his place in history.
