Loyola 21, Marist 11

RECAP: After beating rival Mount Carmel on the road in Week 3, the Ramblers avoided a letdown by defeating Marist at home Saturday. Loyola sophomore coach Les Seitzinger said the defense “carried the day.” The unit was headlined by safety Nick Pomey and linebacker Sam Schierloh. Linemen Joe Nasally and Dominic Urukalo and running back Michael Gavric starred on offense.

COACH’S COMMENT: “We have a lot to improve upon in all three phases of the game,” Seitzinger said. “On offense, we had too many dropped balls and missed assignments. On special teams, we’ve got to do a better job executing and changing field position. On defense, we’ve got to improve our tackling. We hope to see that improvement Friday.”
